Dixboro

Recently Kristin and I went to the Dixboro General Store . They were having their Christmas Sale. It was nice to see all the Christmas lights and decorations and to enjoy some cool weather with cookies and cider. I'm so excited for Christmas and can't wait to see some snow!

Jersi liked the stick-figure reindeer.

And, just one more picture of the babe!

Halloween!

Tonight we went to Aaron and Kristin's house for a pumpkin carving party. We enjoyed great company with A&K, as well as Josh and Shana. We ate some really good appetizers, watched our kids play well together, then carved our pumpkins!

Here are all the pumpkins, except for Josh's (his was really cool, it was the good ol' Michigan M).

Jase's, mine, Aaron's, and Kristin's.

Happy Halloween from Jase and Britta!

Patty Cake, Patty Cake

Jersi loves it when we sing songs to her!

6 months

Today Jersi turns 6 months! Jase and I were so blessed to have been given such a good and easy baby to take care of. We absolutley adore her and love having her as our first child.

In her first six months of life, Jersi has learned to like:

Swinging outside,

Playing in her exersaucer,

Reading books and playing on our bed,

Playing with her dada,

and watching TV with us.

However, she doesn't like to wear her winter hat! That's going to be a bit of a problem, considering we're already in the 30 degree temperature range and winter is well on it's way..

Happy 6 month birthday, Jersi!
We love you so much.

Over the Weekend..

We spent too much time doing this:

We all get a little crazy sometimes!

9.27.2009

Facial Hair

Jase is always doing stuff with his hair. Growing it out, cutting it short , growing a beard, and even leaving a nasty mustache for me to have to look at!

Thankfully, he doesn't go anywhere with this hideous thing on his face. He leaves it for a couple hours so we can laugh at it and then he shaves it off. Gotta love him!

9.21.2009

Night Owl

The other night Jersi just did not want to go to sleep! So, we decided, what the heck, let's just let her stay up and tire herself out. She was being such a snuggle bug and so rowdy! I love it when she gets like that.

The next morning she didn't wake up until 8:45! We're thinking we might let her stay up late more often!

I want to go outside!

Last night we grilling hamburgers outside. We put Jersi in her exersaucer right next to the sliding glass door with it open so she could watch Jase grilling. She was not happy! So we took the exersaucer outside with her in it, and it made all the difference. Her mood changed instantly, and she was as happy as she could be!

She just loves to be outside!

Sitting Up!

Jersi has been starting to sit up more and more these days. She will already be five months on Tuesday! She still falls over and bumps her head every once in a while, but it seems like everyday she gets better and better at it. Next step: crawling. Although that wouldn't really be a next step, technically..

Haircut

Before.

After.

With all the shedding I have been doing since after the baby, I decided that I needed to get a haircut. Much better! I do kind of miss the long locks, but it was starting to look a little ratty at the ends. I'm not much for variety when it comes to my hair though, so I'm sure it will be long again in just a few months.

Daddy's touch

Let me tell you a brief little tale.....It was a 3 hour duel (the length of church, to be precise), and the fiercest of battles took place (Jersi -fidgeting, moaning, crying. Jase-walking, soothing, missing class and learning nothing). But in the end I think the picture reads the final chapter without a single word. I think you know who won.
Until they meet again, oh fiercest of foes (probably next week - same time, same place).

Trip to Seattle

My oldest sister Anna and her husband Frank were nice enough to fly us out to Seattle where they live. The rest of my family was there too on vacation so it worked out perfectly. I was excited that Jase was able to come as well and see Seattle because he had never been. While we were there, we discovered that Jersi REALLY likes her Aunt Anna. Anytime Jersi was crying, Anna was able to calm her instantly. Jersi was just as comfortable and content in Anna's arms as she was in mine. We started to call Aunt Anna, Aunt Mama because she was almost like Jersi's second mom.

We were saying that if Anna was able to nurse, I could leave Jersi with her and Jersi probably wouldn't even know that I was gone. Seriously.

I love to see my two nephews, Frank Jr. and Christian. I feel like everytime I see them they've grown so much, but still stay as sweet as ever. They were always asking to hold Jersi.

Frank was so precious with Jersi. He knew just how to hold and support her, and she just loved being in his arms.

Christian loved to hold Jersi too. She could just stare at him all day long.

Mom and Jersi.

Frank and Anna took us to Whistler, Canada for a couple of days. It's only a five hour drive from Seattle and definately worth it. It has fantastic skiing in the winter, and has biking, hiking, swimming, etc.. in the summer. BEAUTIFUL!! One day all the boys went downhilling with rented mountain bikes. You basically take the gondolas up the mountains and bike down the same 'slopes' that you would ski down in the winter. I don't have any pictures, but when the boys came back they were covered with mud. I still haven't been able to get the mud out of Jase's jeans and shirt. Despite the fact that my brother came home with a huge bruise/scrap on his hip, and they all complained about being sore the next day, they said it was so much fun and will definately do it again.

Dad and Jersi in the hotel room, ready to go for a hike.

Anna and Sasha at the village in Whistler.

One day we went on Frank's boat. It's a smaller, sportier boat that can sit 9 people. We went tubing, wakeboarding, and water skiing around the island that they live on.

Frank and Christian tubing.

My Dad even went tubing!

We had so much fun in Seattle. Thanks Frank and Anna!!

She Yells!

I meant to post this along with the other video from yesterday but I didn't have time. Jase would eat Jersi's tummy and she would grab onto his ears and hair and yell! We've never heard her yell like that before. We said that she sounds like a cat on the attack. It was so funny!

8.04.2009

On the Move

Jersi can now roll over! She can roll from back to stomach and vice-versa. She started doing it a couple of days ago and now she's really gotten the hang of it. Gone are the days of putting her down while going to do something and coming back to find her in the same place..

Jersi's Blessing Day

Jersi did beautifully as she reverently listened to her name officially pronounced for church records and received her first blessing. She looked adorable in her hand-made dress that her G-ma Olsen made just for her. Thankfully her "baby dress" still fit now that she's more than 3 months old and looking everyday less and less like a newborn infant. We were happy that it went well and that she waited until after the main event to dirty her diaper and yet another outfit. Don't worry, we were smart enough to remove the pretty dress before Jersi's nature could rear its ugly head, ...or its bottom.

Jersi was a good sport for all (most) of these pictures. You might have guessed it, but we had to dress her up about 3 times in order to get a couple of good pictures. These were some of those that turned out pretty cute.

Kisses

Jase and Jersi were giving each other kisses last night.

Home Sweet Home

While Jase and I were home in Chapel Hill, Sonja and I got to celebrate our birthday together this year. My birthday is June 28th and Sonja's is June 29th. We had a nice dinner that my dad made and we each had our own cake that my mom made. It was so nice to be home and celebrate with everyone!

Happy Birthday to us!!

Make a wish!

Sonja and I decided to dress up for our birthday. We went all around the house taking random pictures. We got some pretty funny shots.

That's me, obviously.

My beautiful sister, Sonja.

My beautiful sister, Sasha. (We couldn't leave her out :))

My brother bought Jersi some shoes and I tried a pair of them on her. I was walking her around in them and it was so cute to see her little legs moving with shoes on her feet!

Jase, Sasha, and Jersi.

Sonja and Jersi.

My Mom and I gave Jersi a bath in the small sink in the kitchen. She usually loves to take baths, but not that day! I don't think she liked not being able to sit in her bathtub.

My family with everyone except my brother and one of my sisters. We weren't quite ready to take the picture!
